FELIX-SOLINGEN is a family business, its history of the FELIX brand began in 1790, while the Felix family was engaged in the production of cutlery in a small family smithy.
The founder of the brand, Carl Gustav Felix, was interested in the technology of forging knives from an early age and later founded his own company.
Felix/Zepter is the oldest knife factory in the world.
Later, the Felix/Zepter factory became part of the Swiss concern, which was proof of the highest quality of FELIX-SOLINGEN products.
In production, only the highest quality raw materials are used: chromium-molybdenum-vanadium steel with X50 CrMoV15 marking, Japanese VG10 multi-layer forming Damascus steel or hardened X65 CR13 steel. Knife blades are made by forging, some by stamping - it all depends on the design of the knife.
The physical, chemical and mechanical properties of chrome vanadium steel give it high resistance to mechanical stress, corrosion resistance and hardness, which makes this material ideal for certain applications. During the manufacturing process, chrome vanadium steel is cold drawn and heat treated to withstand shock loads at elevated temperatures.
